Evelyn was always a lover of the outdoors and willing to do whatever she could to preserve the environment. During her junior year of high school, she found out she was pregnant with her boyfriend Grant's baby. During this time, she reclaimed her love for designing and creating; a hobby she had abandoned as a kid. With a tight budget and limited number of resources, Evelyn began using recycled materials for her projects which opened many doors for her future career. By the time their second daughter, Hope was born, Evelyn had made her mark in the sustainable clothing community where she would then continue to excel for the next 30+ years.

Evelyn started crocheting, sewing, and knitting when she was a young teen, but she never thought that a hobby could turn into a career. When her family was short on cash, she'd put her creative skills to work by making furniture, toys, and clothes for the kids. Eventually, she started writing and publishing crafting books to share tips and tricks for families in similar situations.
